Saddle Re-Flocking
Our Saddle Re-flocking service uses only 100% pure lambs' wool which contains long fibres providing super springiness and resilience enabling it to recover quickly from compression over a long period of time.
Lambs’ wool allows the saddle to breathe, soak up the sweat and oils from the horse’s coat and enables it to bed in to the horse’s shape over a few months, to form a well fitting panel.
We use wool because it is a natural material. The more commonly used synthetic or acrylic fibres are unable to breathe and, not being a natural material, are unable to soak up the oil and sweat from the horse and can turn hard and lumpy.
- When was the last time you looked under your saddle at the panels?
- Did you check that they were even in size, had no lumps and bumps and were of an even pressure throughout?
- Has your horse increased or decreased in his/her condition or muscle tone, does the saddle that used to fit, now not fit as well as it could?
- Are you using front or rear gel pads or riser pads?
- Could this be rectified by altering the saddle flock?
Even the best fitting saddle in the world can suffer with hard, lumpy flock and unevenly flocked panels which could cause your horse discomfort or affect his/her performance.
